Terrain Type: Temperate Aquatic
Sterling Sea is named for the brilliant silver colour of the water just before sunrise. It borders Ornoth on the eastern side, but remains largely uncharted since most of the shoreline is composed of rocky cliffs. The headland near Kwona is the exception to this, with short pebble beaches at the water’s edge. However, not even these can be used to launch boats – jagged rocks are scattered about, both above the water and beneath.
Compared to the savagery of the Northern Ocean, Sterling Sea has little in the way of dangerous sea monsters. The worst that has been seen are large pods of whales that travel past the headland twice a year. Some fishermen spin wild tales of a giant mudcrab the size of a house – they say it wanders the lonely coastline, searching in vain for a mate.
